April Theme: Open Arms
"And he took the children in His arms; placed His hands on them and blessed them."
Mark 10:16
Memory Verse
April 22-26
"The Lord watches over you- the Lord is your shade at your right hand;
the sun will not harm you by day, nor the moon by night."
Psalm 121:5-6
Birthday Blessings We love celebrating birthdays and letting your child know how special they are to God, their families and their class. We will be celebrating birthdays in our classroom, most likely during our lunchtime 12:30-1:00. In consideration of students with allergies, we ask that you do not send treats on the day of your child’s birthday blessing. We love to emphasize the “blessing” part of the birthday celebration and are asking parents to consider purchasing a book to donate to the classroom or our media center. If your child has a summer birthday, we can either celebrate half birthdays or celebrate in the spring.
Absences
If a child is absent due to family vacations or several days of illness, the child will be able to complete their missed assignments upon their return to class. They will be given the same number of days they missed to complete assignments at home. The student will be responsible to return the completed assignments to their teacher.
Uniforms
As a reminder, our policy states that CCS students in grades K-12th grade should refer to the CCS uniform policy as outlined in the student handbook. This includes that students wear an embroidered CCS polo shirt, CCS outerwear while in the building, and CCS approved bottoms which are clearly marked with the CCS knight head or the original Parker tags. Acceptable colors are black, red, white, or gray only. All uniforms can be purchased at the CCS Campus Store or a CCS sponsored used uniform sale.
Spirit Wear
Every Friday or the last day of the school week, students may wear any CCS t-shirt with denim/cotton walking length shorts of their choice. Blue denim bottoms/cotton shorts include jeans, skirts, jumpers or walking length shorts of any color. The CCS youth cheer uniform purchased from the Campus Store can also be worn. These items should be NEAT, CLEAN and MODEST and not have holes or rips. Athletic shorts/athletic skirts are not allowed. Leggings can be worn under short if needed, but not on their own.
Approved Footwear
This a reminder that in order to be good stewards of our gym floor, we are asking students to remember our footwear policy. All lower school students are required to wear tennis shoes or rubber soled sport shoes. Tennis or sport shoes are safest to go to P.E., recess, and all other activities, and class time does not allow for changing shoes.
