LS, PE Shoe Attire
The CCS handbooks says, “All lower school students are required to wear tennis shoes or rubber-soled sport shoes. Tennis or sport shoes are safest to go to P.E., recess, and all other activities, and class time does not allow for changing shoes.”
Please keep in mind in order to be good stewards of our gym floor, refrain from wearing Birkenstocks and boots. Both of these damage our gym floor and are not safe on the playground. Students will be asked to call home for appropriate shoe attire if they come in inappropriate shoes.
Friday Spirit Wear
Every Friday or the last day of the school week, students may wear any CCS t-shirt with denim/cotton walking length shorts of their choice. Denim bottoms/cotton shorts include jeans, skirts, jumpers or walking length shorts of any color. These items should be NEAT, CLEAN and MODEST and not have holes or rips. Athletic shorts/athletic skirts are not allowed. Leggings can be worn under shorts if needed, but not on their own.
The following procedures apply to absences:
• Teachers will maintain an accurate record of attendance and tardiness. The record will appear on report cards.
• To notify a teacher that a child will be late/absent, an email to the teacher is appropriate. It is not necessary to call
the office. Homework assignments can be obtained from a classmate in most cases.
• If a child is absent due to family vacations or several days of illness, the child will be able to complete their missed
assignments upon their return to class. They will be given the same number of days they missed to complete
assignments at home. The student will be responsible to return the completed assignments to their teacher.
Third-Fourth Grade Late Work
If homework or an assignment is not turned in during the appropriate class period, it is late. The penalties for late work are
• 1 day late - 10 points off
• 2 days late - 20 points off
• 3 days late - Zero
